OPERATIONS DIVISION
The Operations Division of the Tri-Community Fire Department is the backbone of the department’s firefighting and rescue efforts. Staffed by over 80 dedicated firefighters, more than half of whom hold EMR or higher certifications, this division plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and protection of the community. Equipped with a robust and diverse fleet of emergency vehicles, the Operations Division is prepared to respond to a wide array of emergencies with efficiency and expertise.
Fleet Composition
5 Front Line Fire Engines: These versatile vehicles are the backbone of the division, equipped with water pumps, hoses, and various firefighting tools necessary for combating structure fires and other emergencies.
3 Front Line Aerials: These vehicles are equipped with extendable ladders and platforms, essential for reaching high-rise buildings, conducting rescues, and providing elevated streams of water to control large fires.
4 Tankers: These vehicles carry large amounts of water, crucial for firefighting in areas without a reliable water supply. They ensure a steady water source during firefighting operations in rural and remote areas.
3 Brush Trucks: Designed for wildland firefighting, these trucks are equipped to handle rough terrain and are essential for controlling and extinguishing brush and grass fires.
1 Heavy Rescue: This vehicle is equipped with specialized tools and equipment for performing technical rescues, including vehicle extrications, confined space rescues, and high-angle rescues.
